Thanks for your bug report. Do I understand you correctly, that as long as the
tango-icon-theme is installed, you're not able to see one of these:

* http://daniel.holba.ch/ubuntu/ic/subpages/stock_folder_gnome.html

Which output does
find /usr/share/icons/ -name icon-theme.cache | grep -E "(Human|gnome|Tang)"
|xargs ls -l
give you?
Do you have a pattern, how I can try to reproduce this?
