Please do one of the following:

1) make the default screen saver "blank screen"
2) make the default screen saver run with the *lowest* priority

The screen savers that  start up by default are very CPU intensive,
though very pretty.

I recommend that you err on the side of functionality, and not
prettiness.

I'd like to use the ubuntu live-cd as a rescue/recovery CD.  I need to
remember to perform the extra step of setting the screen saver to "blank
screen" or "off", if I want to copy in an operating system image of 20GB
over the network.  Otherwise, the system will never finish the copy
because the screen saver uses SO MUCH resources.

I am using Ubuntu/Xubuntu 7.10, and it is the best.
