You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Please do one of the following:
1) make the default screen saver "blank screen"
2) make the default screen saver run with the *lowest* priority
The screen savers that start up by default are very CPU intensive,
though very pretty.
I recommend that you err on the side of functionality, and not
prettiness.
I'd like to use the ubuntu live-cd as a rescue/recovery CD. I need to
remember to perform the extra step of setting the screen saver to "blank
screen" or "off", if I want to copy in an operating system image of 20GB
over the network. Otherwise, the system will never finish the copy
because the screen saver uses SO MUCH resources.
I am using Ubuntu/Xubuntu 7.10, and it is the best.
