I finally found what is/was causing the uninterruptible problem on my system.
After upgrading the kernel to 2.6.24-19 the programs that went uninterruptible before worked as they should. Today I reinstalled the drivers for my DVB/TV Tuner and I had the bug again. Uninstalled the drivers and modules and the programs worked flawlessly again. It seems one of the modules that is build to support the tuner causes the bug on my system although the same drivers caused no trouble under Gutsy but it began after the upgrade to Hardy. I would rule out the drivers themselves as the source for the bug because as I mentioned there were no problems under Gutsy and I tried two different versions of the drivers, both with the same result.
