I think I have found the source of the problem. It seems that deskbar gets into a deadlock state in the following conditions:
- you are doing the first login after booting up the machine (and thus everything is still being loaded from disk) - deskbar is launched through the bonobo interface at the panel's request - you have the beagle deskbar extension choosed as the first extension (at the top of the list) - you have beagled running on your session (on my case beagled is launched from the /etc/xdg/autostart file) If beagled is not running or if the beagle deskbar extension is not loaded this deadlock doesn't happen. I'm attaching a beagled log from when this happened where there seems to be an unhandled exception that I think might be the cause of this. ** Attachment added: "beagled log" http://librarian.launchpad.net/2233398/current-Beagle -- deskbar is unusable upon loading https://launchpad.net/bugs/39935 -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
