Looks like it does NOT happen on a new user account. I previously wiped out everything but the .tomboy directory, which of course contains my notes Looks like if I delete my .tomboy I can come up and reinitialize the system correctly... oho! if I delete my .tomboy/addins-db-001 the problem goes away. attached is my bad .tomboy (sans private notes)
