Permissions are a pretty basic part of file handling, I'd think. Case in point: One server I maintain a website on has very restrictive permissions by default, which are applied to every file that gets uploaded - only viewable by owner. (700, I guess?) To get the actual website working, I have to change perms on every file I upload there. This means I can't use Nautilus as it stands now for managing this website.
I haven't yet tried Nautilus in Dapper Beta - does anyone know if this has been fixed in Gnome 2.14? -- Nautilus as FTP has no CHMOD ability https://launchpad.net/bugs/19248 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
