You have been subscribed to a public bug:
With a fresh install of Ubuntu Gutsy. There is no way to play aiff files
and no prompt to install any players or codecs/plugins.
When trying to open an aiff file from nautilus, I simply get a message
stating the file cannot be opened.
"No application suitable for automatic installation is available for
handling this kind of file"
For those coming from a MacOS X background this is a problem as the
format is used commonly.
