I'm not really sure. I must admit that I'm not a programmer. However,
before I removed gvfs-fuse, I was removing programs (about 20 MB total)
to try to free up some space. I would recheck and both Nautilus and df
would still report that the root was full. After I removed gvfs-fuse, I
never regained that space but I removed a few more things and gained 25
MB.

I'm not entirely sure what's going on. I noticed this was happening and
found this bug with several people reporting the same problem.

If I can find my install cd, I'm going to rebuild this machine to see
what I can accomplish and try to reproduce the problem on a clean
system.
