No, sorry Sebastian, I was incorrect at assuming it was Nautilus. Turns out the server has SCP and not SFTP capabilities, so everything I was trying was failing. Turns out I need to use the 'fish' protocol in KDE or WinSCP through Wine.
My apologies. Also, I have a couple of other FTP logins that have a username with a dot in the middle, and they work, so that defuncts my bad username case.
