Public bug reported:
I discovered that when I create files on my desktop from the terminal
they do not appear. Later on I tested in nautilus and the problem seems
to be more general. To recreate the problem:
nautilus . &
touch some-file
Check the contents of the directory given by nautilus and some-file will
not be there until you refresh (F5).
