I am using compaq laptop Evo N1000c, with Heron beta and all updates
installed. I had to install in safe graphic mode and only had 800x600
mode. Tried to fix using sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop and was going to
reconfigure xserver. After typing previous from command line received
*starting anac.....
*starting deferred exectution scheduler atd
*Starting periodic command scheduler crond
*checking battery state
*running llocak boot scripts
Then all I get is a flashing cursor.
Tried again from recovery mode at boot, went to command line did above and it
stopped ok
Typed in sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver.org and was told xserver.org is not
installed
Looking at my etc/X11/xorg.conf I see
(relevant only)
Section "Device"
Identifier "configured Video Device"
Driver "Vesa"
EndSection
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Configured Monitor"
End Section
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Default Screen"
Monitor "Configured Monitor"
Device "Configured Video Device"
End Section
I did have it all running in the first install of Heron (this is my
second install) so I am not sure what happened.
