You have been subscribed to a public bug:
I changed my password to a more secure password (10 Characters with
numbers, capital and special characters like '!' and '_').
After logging out, I could not any longer log into my computer via gdm.
However, I could login remotely via ssh and also via command-line (CTRL-
ALT-F1).
When I changed back to my old less secure password, I could again log in
via gdm. I tried once again the more secure password, but again login
via gdm failed.
This appears to me as a bug, which I did not find on the web. I use
Ubuntu 8.04, 64-bit version with gnome as Windows-manager.
