Hello,

First of all I don't know which package is involved sorry, I'm not a
specialist.

Here is a little bug that some Ubuntu forum members confirmed on laptops
with the option "auto decrease brightness when idle "(not the exact
name, I'm french and I don't know the english option name). The problem
is that when the computer is idle and then the brightness decrease, it
doesn't come back to its original value when you use your computer
again, it comes back to an inferior value (don't really easy to
explain). Then, after 3 or 4 time the options occurs, the brightness of
the screen is really lower than the original and you have to increase
it manually to reach the original level :-/

To reproduce the bug, just follow these steps:

- increase the brightness to the maximum
- wait until the brightness decreases because your laptop is idle
- move your mouse to make activity on your laptop and make the brightness to
increase
- That's all : you can notice the brightness is not at its maximum anylonger,
but a little lower. Repeat the procedure again, and the brightness will be
lower again, and so on.

Hope you understood !

Best regards.
