You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Right clicking on a file, choosing "open with", and then choosing a KDE
app does not work. The application is not started, and the file is not
opened. Basically, nothing happens. This is also the case if one chooses
"Open with Other Application" and then chooses a KDE program.
(I am assuming that this is a problem with KDE programs, since KWrite
and Kate are affected, while OpenOffice Writer, gedit, Firefox and
Archive Manager are not. I can confirm this bug on two different
computers.)
