I have tried this camera with Ubuntu Hardy.

When I plug in the camera, a dialog appears saying something like "A
camera has been detected ...". In the background f-spot launches and a
dialog appears where I can choose the camera to import from: There are
three choices:

Mass Storage Device
USB
USB

Only the Mass Storage Device works. The other two result in an
I/O-Error.

My interpretation is as follows:
The camera is detected simultaneously as a Mass Storage Device and as a
USB-Camera. That's why both F-Spot and this dialog "A camera has been detected"
launch simultaneously. But only the Mass Storage Mode seems to work. In fact,
if I choose "Import pictures" from the "A camera has been detected"-dialog,
f-spot launches a second time with exactly the same three choices.
