Thanks for the report, I've tested this with Intrepid and what i get is:
If i paste the text you said above in evince it displays fine there's
no weird characters on it, but if i change to another entry field the
text dissappear. while with trying to open the same file with acroread
what i get is an error regarding a javascript plugin and i cannot edit
the form, are you getting something similar with acroread can you test
with it also? maybe the pdf is kind of broken. may you also take an
screenshot of the characters you're seeing? thanks.
