Thanks for checking again. If it works now, then I suspect an earlier and
broken dapper version of control-center messed up the file somehow. Sorry.
BTW, you should upgrade to the latest dapper version and do the process again,
since your version did not yet set '!defaults.ctl.card AudioPCI'; this can lead
to problems sometimes.
