Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gvfs

When I log into my server as root by using an URL in Nautilus like
sftp://[EMAIL PROTECTED], Nautilus doesn't allow me to paste files to folders
to which root isn't explicitely granted access.
Example:
Given this on the server (logged in via ssh):

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/srv# LANG=en_US.UTF-8 ls -l
total 0
drwxr-xr-x 5 tomcat tomcat 40 2008-08-04 14:35 tomcat
drwxr-xr-x 4 tomcat tomcat 29 2008-08-04 14:27 tomcat.old

As one can see, the folder "tomcat" doesn't belong to root, isn't in group root
and doesn't have write permission for others. If I navigate in Nautilus to the
URL
sftp://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/srv/tomcat
Nautilus won't allow me to copy files from a local folder to the remote folder
using copy and paste. Instead the "Paste" entry in Nautilus' context menu is
disabled (as are the "Create Folder" and "Create File" entries).
Copying via mouse drag and drop works, though.

I'm seeing this on
Server: linux-image-2.6.24-19-xen 2.6.24-19.41, openssh-server 4.7p1-8ubuntu1.2
Client: linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic 2.6.24-19.41, openssh-client
4.7p1-8ubuntu1.2, gvfs 0.2.5-0ubuntu2
On both, client and server, lsb_release -rd prints
Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1
Release: 8.04

** Affects: gvfs (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
