You have been subscribed to a public bug: Looking for a way to have the Ubuntu login screen "remember" the last logged in username, so that I just have to press enter to reuse the last login name, and then it goes straight to the password prompt.
Under system->administration->login window, I currently have it set to show the list of users, so I can click on my full name. Ideally though, I would like the username to be prefilled, and just have to press enter, and then type my password, without using the mouse. I.e. I am fine with my username being disclosed to anyone who walks up to the login screen, but I still want to have to authenticate myself with a password. I could not see a way to do this, and some Google searches (e.g. "Ubuntu login screen remember username") did not turn up anything that looked applicable, other than this similar request: http://www.daniweb.com/forums/thread47878.html -------- version info -------- Release: Ubuntu 8.04.1, AMD64. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- To login screen, add a way to prefill username field with last username used. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/264553 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
