Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
I just upgraded to Hardy and my desktop "launcher" that used to launch my home directory now fails. Here's the ".desktop": [Desktop Entry] Version=1.0 Encoding=UTF-8 Name=amanda Type=Link Icon[en_US]=gnome-panel-launcher Name[en_US]=amanda URL=/home/amanda Icon=/home/amanda/icons/little owl.ico GenericName[en_US]= It worked fine in Gutsy. I was able to fix it by changing the URL to URL=file:///home/amanda (per https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/38230) But older desktop launchers shouldn't just breakdown in the upgrade. Also, *if* the "create launcher" dialog is going to let you browse to a directory, it should prompt you to add the necessary "file://" to the URL. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Nautilus "launchers" to local directories fail https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/268701 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
