You have been subscribed to a public bug:
The window manager doesn't load during the installation, leaving the
window without an edge. (I'm afraid I can't remember what is supposed to
be there, I haven't installed from CD for a long time, are there normal
titles?). This is using the non-free edition of VirtualBox 2.0.2 and the
Alpha 5 Desktop installation CD, going directly to install from the boot
menu. I've attached a screenshot of the syslog which shows a segfault in
metacity which I believe may be responsible.
