Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

the configure code seems to not work when using libtool2:

"       if /bin/sh ../libtool --mode=compile ${CC} $PYTHON_CFLAGS -c
testpython.c >/dev/null 2>&1 && \
                /bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link ${CC} -o testpython.la -rpath
`pwd` -module -avoid-version $PYTHON_LIB_LOC testpython.lo $PYTHON_LIBS
$PYTHON_EXTRA_LIBS >/dev/null 2>&1 && \
                grep 'dlname.*testpython' testpython.la >/dev/null 2>&1; then
                result=yes
        else
                result=no
                have_python=no
        fi"

how to trigger the bug on intrepid:

- apt-get source epiphany-browser
- cd epiphany-browser-version
- update the autoreconf patch using the intrepid libtool (or comment it and run
aclocal and autoconf before building)

the python detection code breaks, it works fine when using the hardy
libtool version
