Nope, not using Exchange.  This is a stand-alone Evolution; I'm not
subscribed to calendars nor am I using it for mail.

I've been creating the event by double-clicking on the start date.  I
just played around with it a little more; it doesn't have to be a
multi-day event, a one-day event also works as long as 'all day event'
is checked.

E.g. Double click on today, give it a name, (all day event is checked
by default), hit OK => event starting 20:00 yesterday ending 20:00
today.

Time zone is American/New_York, Time format is 24-hour.

I don't have a spare machine to test this on dapper, sorry.
