This is caused by libgdm-gnome binary package being dropped.

However, it seems like libgdl-gnome is indeed still used (both Ubuntu
and Debian) as python-gnome2-extras and Anjuta are two examples of
direct dependencies. python-gnome2-extras has a number of dependencies
(roughly 45 binary packages).
