You have been subscribed to a public bug:
I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 - the Hardy Heron with the blubuntu theme, but
this applies to all gnome desktops I've tried recently.
When saving a file (see attached screen shot for an example), and
'browse for other folders' is selected, the window shows a row of
buttons indicating the folder hierarchy, so that could be 'home' 'user'
'downloads' 'graphics'. Suppose the last file I saved was in 'home'
'user' 'downloads' 'graphics', but this time I want to save in 'home'
'user' 'downloads'. I would expect to click on the 'downloads' button,
and then the 'save' button (given that the name of the file is shown in
the 'Name:' field.
What actually happens when you click 'save' is that it opens the sub-
directory which is still highlighted. I want to save in the current
directory, but there is no (obvious) way of de-selecting the currently
directory (see screen shot for an example of when clicking 'save'
doesn't save the file).
thanks for looking at this,
Jon
