xournal (e.g.) shows severe problems with redraw. some lines don't
appear, others after the cursor moves out of the canvas, others appear
partially and later complete. libgnomecanvas is responsible. fedora and
suse have the following patches applied:

They seem a bit large but solve the problem. Corresponding debdif attached.
