Thanks for the links Bernhard. The first might well describe a genuine bug. It refers to the top/bottom arrows that appear in menus when they are too long to fit onto the screen; the reported behaviour is that the menu length is fine but the arrows appear and you have to scroll up/down to see all the menu entries. I'll have a hunt around to see if that bug had been reported before.
The second refers to the small down arrow you get on the "Menu Bar" panel applet icon. It is there I assume, to hint that the icon is actually a menu but some folks obviously don't like it. Again, I'm sorry if I misunderstand what you wrote, but neither of these sound like what you reported.
