Public bug reported:

Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Needs Info

Description:
Hello,

Concerning Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake with dayly update.
After doing a clean install (Apr, 03) I could log in and get automatic update.
Then I had to reboot. When I logged in and Gnome started, the screen freezed
and the loggin sound hung. Nothing I could do but doing a hard reboot. Tried to
log in again. Freezed again. Reboot again, this time using recovery option.
From the command line I run:
# init 5
I came in the loggin screen. Logged in and Gnome started just fine.Tested my
hardware and some programs; all seemed to be O.K.
Still whenever I boot with default option and log in, Gnome freezes within 2,3
seconds.
Note that this is the first time I report a bug. I'm just a new user of
Linux/GPL/Free (as in freedom) Software, but I'm learning it. I've looked if
similar bug has been reported and found some, though not exactly the same.
Found this too http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=132895&page=2. If you
need more information, I'm eager to help.

Greeting,
Derry
