Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

how to reproduce:
1. open firefox
2. browse to a location where you can download large (>25kb) textfiles
(content-disposition: attachment -> you'll be asked what to do with this file)
3. a window pops up, asking how to proceed (save as or open with), choose open
with texteditor (gedit)
4. gedit opens and freezes (no menubars displayed, cpu load raises)

workaround:
step 3: save the file on disk
open it manually -> if you scroll around a bit, gedit freezes again (if you
switch back from another window)

other info:
the file contains more than 1000 characters per line (on some lines)
gphpedit can handle the same file without problems

gedit version 2.20.3-0ubuntu1 (7.10)

** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
