I would be disappointed to see this bug closed. Problems remain with Firefox 3 in the Intrepid Ibex beta using an old HP LaserJet 4L.
I have written up these problems on UbuntuForums (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=939484) and as bug 458641 on the Mozilla bug database. Briefly, the resolution involves a clumsy work-around, namely a special paper type buried in a sub-menu. Also, on my printer, the headers and footers still print outside the imageable area as defined by the special paper type and as set by CUPS.
