I am using Ubuntu hardy Heron (installed via Windows) on April 23rd 2008
(the day before expected release).

This may well be part of a wider problem, I don't know.
However, my specific problem is this:

I want to associate files of the type ".mht" with the Opera browser.
I want to associate files of the type ".r" with the program Rebview on my
desktop.

This is so that if I double-click on these files, they call their
respective associated programs.

In the properties of an MHT file for example, I set the program to Opera in the
"Open with" tab.
As a result, the "Open with" property of my ".r" files is also set to Opera!

The opposite also happens: if I set the associated program for ".r"
files to Rebview, my ".mht" files also become associated with Rebview,
not with Opera any more.
