Binary package hint: gnome-control-center
try to set network proxy preference to use http proxy with
$ gconftool-2 --type bool --set "/system/http_proxy/use_http_proxy" true
and the value is set in the GConf repository
$ gconftool-2 --get "/system/http_proxy/use_http_proxy"
true
but it has no effect in gnome-network-preference, still show direct connect to
the internet.
it seems that the gnome-network-preference donnot use GConf system anymore.
$ lsb_release -rcd
