And sorry... now it's working out of the box, from my virtualised Ubuntu to my
laptop Ubuntu using Cups and a GTK app like Gedit (or tell me Gedit is not
GTK2?)
May be I already had an update (or Microsoft is doing a great job reparing CUPS
with MS Virtual PC 2007, which is unlikely!).

Anyway from the virtualized, the only thing updatable under GTK2 was
gtk2-engines-pixbuf (version 2.19.9-3ubuntu4) to 2.19.9-3ubuntu5
This implied the upgrade of
libgtk2.0-0 (version 2.12.9-3ubuntu4) to version 2.12.9-3ubuntu5

So it works now with both versions... and then I can confirm there is no
regression and it works also with the new version (ubuntu5).
