Both elements of this bug still occur for me:

1) On logout if 2 or more users are logged in I am returned to the locked
screen dialog instead of the gdm-greeter.
2) When I reach the locked screen dialog through the steps above it is not
possible to click any of the buttons. Workarounds if you don't want to log in
as the locked screen user are to know their password(!) and log in as them them
immediately logout/switch users or to press alt+s (many new users won't have
this latter option though as they won't know about keyboard shortcuts).

When two users are logged in at the same time and one logs out, gdm drops back
to the locked-screen dialog of the other user, which works only to unlock the
session.
