I am usually using GNOME and compiz with many virtual
desktops/workspaces and many windows. However, to work around some
compiz buggyness with OpenGL apps, I sometimes need to switch from
compiz to metacity. To do this, I use gnome-appearance-properties.
Unfortunately, when I switch from compiz to metacity, all windows are
moved to the first workspace, which is a terrible mess.
