I can confirm having had this bug very recently. This is only an issue
with Tomboy 0.12.0-0ubuntu1 where closing the "search all notes" window
closes the entire program instead of keeping the applet in the
notification area alive for quick access. This is not reproduceable
starting Tomboy from the command line.

To double-check this, open tomboy from the command line, you will see
that the search window does not pop up on its own.

Start Tomboy from Applications > Accessories > Tomboy Notes and you will
see that the search window comes up. Should you close this window Tomboy
will close (even in the panel).

Now that I try to reproduce it, I can't... was there an update in
another package which might have fixed this?
