OS distribution: Ubuntu 8.10
Package Version: 2.3-13.1ubuntu6
What is expected to happen when I plug in AC power: Absolutely nothing,
other than I get confirmation that the power pack has been plugged in
and no interuptions in any text editors I may be running
What happens:
Console Mode - If I'm in a text editor I get the message: "* Starting
anac(h)ronistic cron anacron" displayed within my test document.
GUI Mode - My PC shuts off with no notification
Steps taken:
1) I receive a "power low" notification
2) I plug in the AC adapter
3) I get the "anacron" message (console) or my PC shuts down (GUI)
--------
After starting up again, or saving and exiting my text file before using
"clear" to get rid of the rubbish in shell:
- I opened the anacron file to find that it's a simple text file with a few
paths inside. - Not much help there
- I looked in the /var/log directory but couldn't see any logs pertaining to
anacron that could help me
Are there any logs I should be specifically seeking out? Is it even an
anacron issue or could it be a power manager issue or something else?
