Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
1. Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 2. Version: 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu1 3. When I highlight a file in Nautilus and delete it, I expect it to be deleted, or moved to some appropriate trash can folder for later removal. 4. Post-deletion, the file isn't visible in Nautilus, or with the command prompt, or in the trash can, but continues to take up space. The file is on a different filesystem than my home directory. I was able to track the files down to a .Trash-1000 directory. As this name won't be visible, this removes the ability of normal users to reclaim the space used by files. Files should be deleted permanently with a warning, or moved to a trash can that can be emptied with a GUI. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295009 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
