** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: nautilus

When I tried to find out how big my home dir was, I right clicked, and
it reported 127 GB with 22k files. That's not right so I tried again and
it reported 45 GB and some other number of files. Each time I try, it
  usually reports a different size.

If I open the directory and select all of the files, including hidden,
nautilus reports 167 or so GB and a few more files. While typing this I
left the proprieties window open and a few minutes after I opened the
properties dialogue, it updated to 320K files 223GB.

My home dir is mounted on a separate partition and df reports that I
  have used 318GB of it.

+ After deleting 200k items (100 Gigs or so) of trash form over the years,
+ It finally reports something that makes sense and takes only a few
+ seconds.

- I imagine that it might still be calculating in the background but stopped
updating the size counter. I thought It was done and had not indication that it
was not. There is no noticeable HDD activity.
