As far as I am concerned, changing the layout of the keyboard from "French Alternative" to "French" solves the issue. The difference between the layouts for the space key is that in "French Alternative", it is "nobreakspace".
In fact, the default installation select the "French Alternative" layout when choosing a french keyboard.
