Binary package hint: gdm

I'm using Ubuntu 8.10. While I was listening some music with Rhythmbox
and reading a PDF document, suddenly music stopped playing and I noticed
all the system was freezed. I used another PC to try to connect with SSH
and the system let me connect with SSH. I noticed one process was taking
about 100% CPU: it was gdm with process id 6253. I restarted my PC and
tried to look in the log files. I noticed these kind of errors:

as you can see there was a problem, but I really don't know why it
happened. Tne GDM version I'm using is  2.20.8-0ubuntu3.

I attach also all log files I've so you can investigate better the
problem.
