if you do not append an extention, the screenshot tool wont either.
this can lead to some confusion.
it should append .png to the file if no extension is given.
also, i typed "gnome-screenshot" as the name of the package (in
launchpad), but it says:
"gnome-screenshot" does not exist in Ubuntu. Please choose a different
package. If you're unsure, please select "I don't know"
