** Description changed: Using Ubuntu release 8.10 I am unable to hibernate. This problem actually started occurring with 8.04, but with the recent upgrade, I finally got something in the way of a descriptive error message when it failed. When I try to hibernate, I get a black screen with the text: - [30278.********] pm_op(): pci_pm_thaw + 0x0/0x50 returns -16 - [30***.********] PM: Device 0000:00:00.0 failed to thaw: error -16 + [*****.********] pm_op(): pci_pm_thaw + 0x0/0x50 returns -16 + [*****.********] PM: Device 0000:00:00.0 failed to thaw: error -16 And when I try to boot back up: - [*****.*********] pm_op(): pci_pm_restore + 0x0/0x80 returns -16 - [*****.*********] PM: Device 0000:00:00.0 failed to restore: error -16 + [*****.********] pm_op(): pci_pm_restore + 0x0/0x80 returns -16 + [*****.********] PM: Device 0000:00:00.0 failed to restore: error -16 (* indicates a digit) My display then turns black and starts a display of beautiful colors that bleed up and down the screen. -- Hibernate fails on Dell Inspiron 8600 with Intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298804 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
