** Description changed: gvfs-fuse deamon hangs. System monitor indicates futex_wait for the waiting channel. I've no clue what this means. I'm using Ubuntu 8.10. + + The Details: + + a- I open gnome-system-monitor. + b- I browse to the "file systems" tab + c- the "gvfs-fuse-deamon" line indicates that "0 bytes" are Total/Available/Free/Used in the /home/my_name/.gvfs Directory. + d- I expected that the "gvfs-fuse-deamon" line would indicate that the total size of my home directory, and the amount of Free/Available/Used space (like in 8.04). + e- In the "processes" tab and the column "process name" the gvfs-fuse-deamon is marked as "futex_wait" in the Waiting Channel. + + I notice this behavior on 2 different systems (Dell Dimension 9150 and + Dell Inspiron 6400, both with Ubuntu 8.10). Another system (Ubuntu 8.04; + Dell Dimension 4700) does not have this behavior.
