Ronny, I'm not running Kubuntu, and don't have a Kubuntu image here to install so I'm not able to test. Running sudoku on Ubuntu does not produce the problem for me.
I apologise if it seems like I'm asking an unnecessary question, but it would really help if you could install python-glade2 and report on whether the problem still occurs for you.
