Not for me, it doesn't. I upgraded a new Hardy system to Intrepid
today, and it's started demanding "Enter login password to unlock
keyring" after doing an autologin. It wasn't doing that in 8.04.1
before I did the upgrade.

This new system was going to be for my mother, who is not very computer-
savvy at all. I was hoping to convert her computer from Windows XP to
Ubuntu, but a crucial part of that plan was that the new system was
going to use autologin and timed login so she wouldn't ever need to
enter a password. (It's her home system, and she lives alone, so the
security risk of autologin is acceptable -- and I'll do all the software
updates and such which would require an admin password or "sudo".) This
seemed to be working just fine when I initially installed 8.04.1, but
upgrading to 8.10 broke it.

This is a SHOWSTOPPER. Unless I can get rid of this prompt to "unlock
the keyring", my mom simply WILL NOT ACCEPT this awkward new system and
will insist on keeping her Windows system. (Or else I guess I'll have
to wipe the new disk, reinstall Hardy, and set up everything all over
again from scratch WITHOUT upgrading to Intrepid.)
