I consider this duplicate status to be wrong.

But this other bug deals with complete deinterlace failure in the GSTREAMER
backend after Intrepid.
This bug report deals with a working deinterlace, but bad subtitles, with the
XINE backend.
Also, this bug has been present since very early versions of totem-xine.
Please, fix the status, since interlace with xine does work in Intrepid,
but the subtitles still look bad.
