I have the same problem as explained here but the situation in bug #126333
(which this one is tagged as duplicate of) doesn't seem to be the same problem.
I don't remember if it is happening since I upgrade to intrepid or since I
removed the pulse-audio (which was shortly after the intrepid upgrade), I have
the problem that when I move the volume slider of a channel in the volume
control (every type of channel: Master, PCM, Capture Mux, although it seems
easier to reproduce the situation with PCM and more difficult with Capture Mux)
the channels get unlocked/unlinked from each other. Ending with only controling
one channel (not both). The other channel stops moving with the one I am
controling or is sometimes muted.
I get the same effect when using the media buttons(which control pcm). Which
channel gets unlinked is random (though it happens more often that the left
channel gets "stuck" or muted.)
Sometimes the other channel gets muted for a single step and then "rejoins" the
other channel. In this case the "lock channels together" button changes into
"unlocked" and stay this way.
One more thing that could be related. When login in, (after typing login
and pw) the login music seems to fluctuate. The same way as when I try
to change the volume and the bug appears. But this happens at every
login.
