We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). 4. The version of Ubuntu (you already have this) 5. The version of the package. You can use : $ dpkg -l totem 6. Since this is a performance issue, include details about your computer such as the processor, speed, RAM, HD space. Thanks! I was unable to reproduce the problem. Ubuntu 8.10 32bit Totem 2.24.3-0ubuntu While playing a movie (.avi) I quit the application using the close button at the top right. The window closed in less than a second. You might want to start a thread on the forum.
