When I click on the menu for Re-Start or Shut-down, I get the following
error message: GNOME POWER MANAGER NOT RESPONDING. The shut-down or re-
start does not proceed, and I click LOG OUT ANYWAY to shut down. Also,
I'm unable to access POWER MANAGER from Preferences: the screen just
hangs. Any suggestions??? A re-start or start-up from shutdown makes no
difference...
